Here are some ways you can celebrate St David’s Day at home. Please send any photographs of completed tasks so that we can put these on the school website.

Lunar New Year

Currently it is the Year of the Ox.

Chinese New Year, also known as Spring Festival or Lunar New Year, is the grandest festival in China, with a 7-day long holiday. As the most colorful annual event, the traditional CNY celebration lasts longer, up to two weeks, and the climax arrives around the Lunar New Year's Eve.  The Lunar New Year/Spring Festival in 2022 will be celebrated on Tuesday 1st February.  It will be the Year of the Tiger according to the Chinese zodiac, which features a 12-year cycle with each year represented by a specific animal.

Shrove Tuesday

Shrove Tuesday marks the start of the Christian festival of Lent. People traditionally cook and eat pancakes to use up foods such as fat, eggs and milk before Lent.

Next year Shrove Tuesday (Pancake Day) is on 1st March 2022 .
